LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCES

Leadership Qualities

5 essential qualities that are essential for entrepreneurial leaders are a vision, the ability to take advantage of bad situations, get people on board, flexibility, and persistence.  When there is a defined problem with the present, a vision can be formed along with the steps needed to get to that vision.  "Whatever you do, or dream you can begin it.  Boldness has genius and power and magic in it" (Warren, 2012).  As opportunities present themselves, one must be ready to seize them.  When one is not satisfied with the way things are in the present, then that when things for the future can come forth.  The next quality deals with taking advantage of bad situations, for example, one can cook a meal with the specified ingredients, or one can cook with what he has no matter the ingredients.  "Expert entrepreneurs have learned the hard way that the most interested ventures are built in a space in which the future is not only unknown, but unknowable" (Effectuation, n.d.).  Another quality to discuss is the ability of the leader to get people to work together.  Good leaders/entrepreneurs are always recruiting whether it be for new talent or customers.  In other words, getting the input of others regarding a vision within the industry is a good way to a vision into action.   The next quality or trait is being able to listen, judge feedback and be flexible enough to adapt.  "No one should be arrogant enough to feel like they have all the answers; and for us, founders who aren't open to feedback, and don't use it as a way to develop and learn aren't open to feedback, and don't use it as a way to develop and learn are not backable, even if they have many other great attributes" (Warren, 2012).  Last, but not least, entrepreneurs or leaders should stay persistent with handling what needs to be done to bring a vision to reality.  No matter what, one has to stay focus to get the job done.  These researched traits would definitely be the profile I’d look for in hiring leaders to run my start-up business.
